Moab trip

I guess it's about time I get off my duff and get updating my blog! There is just so much to report of our busy summer. I'll start by posting a few pics of our trip to Moab, Utah, in the beginning of July. We were there a whole week while Jed did some research for his dissertation. There is SO much to do there! bun nut

For some reason--don't ask me why--Isaac recently started calling Lincoln "Bun Nut." At first I didn't really like it, but Isaac says it with such love toward his little brother. Now it's pretty endearing, and I've even caught myself calling him that!

political compass

Okay, so Jed and I discovered a fascinating website called http://www.politicalcompass.org/ where you can take a test to identify your political beliefs--and it isn't just the traditional left/right. Then you can compare your results with popular world leaders. Take it and let me in on your results!

june fun

I wanted to highlight some fun events from June. We attended a fantastically fun birthday party for Hailey and Ashley Jensen (Hailey pictured) at Monkey Bizness, an indoor bouncy gym. (Isn't her princess cake awesome?) With our Mom's group we went to Denver's Museum of Nature and Science where they had the coolest stuffed (taxidermy?) animals (what do you call those, anyway?). Ike with wolverines (for you, Grandma Smith! :) Isaac and Makadie with two big moose! Isaac had been searching all over for the coyote, and at last we found one! Little llamas for the kids to ride.

name this scene

You never quite know the impact the movies you watch have on your kids until you see this kind of scene reenacted. Can you guess what movie it's from and the characters they boys are playing???

and he's off!

Once he figured this walking thing out, Lincoln hasn't looked back! He's a bit wobbly--perhaps because of the two fused toes on his right foot--but it hasn't slowed him down much. Occasionally he'll fall flat on his face and wail for my help, but that's what mommy's are for, right?

rogers ride

We have LOVED the nice weather and try to get outside at every opportunity. We got a bike trailer for the boys and it’s been a blast hauling them around in it. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze for them, but the trailer is more streamlined and maneuverable, so it’s worth it (at least for me!). It’s nice that we live within biking distance to most places like the library, stores, Jed’s work, church, and many of our friends and ward members.

isaac's preschool program

We were the token doting parents at Ike's preschool program! He loved his teacher, Miss Patti.

turtle in the mailbox

Ike and Link are starting to play so well together! It's not uncommon for me to hear them busting a gut together in the other room about their crazy antics.

"more"

I'm attempting to teach Lincoln baby signs. So far he knows the signs associated with food! Here he is doing "more."

utah vacation

We had a fantastic trip to Utah! First and foremost, we met our newest niece/cousin, Anika and enjoyed our time spent with Lisa and family.

We had a blast going to parks and we watched Suzy while Lisa and baby bonded. We also had fun with Aunt Shella and Avery!
Thanks to Kimmie and Kristen for letting us crash at their homes. Isaac and Brandon were nearly inseparable. We had a great time at the zoo! The kids had their faces painted (Isaac was a rhino, Brandon a spider, and Suzy a butterfly), Lincoln was mesmerized by a bald eagle, and I almost got eaten by a lion!
Lincoln and Avery are little pals! They shared a swing and held hands (on their own!) in their car seats. In the last two pics you can see Avery even tackling Lincoln!
We had a wonderful time with family and friends. I reunited with some high school buddies, Renee, Cassie, and Leanne. They are beautiful and their kids so cute!
On our way home we visited the new Dinosaur museum in Vernal. It was awesome!
